Glass frogs

Family Centrolenidae, Genera Centrolena, Cochranella, Hyalinobatrachium
These frogs live and reproduce in the mountain cloud forests in both the Western and Eastern Cordilleras of the Andes.
They are called "glass frogs" because in many species the chest is  transparent, making both its beating heart and its internal digestive apparatus clearly visible.
In Ecuador there are over 30 species of glass frogs, many of which are found along the Ecoroute.

ANOLIS LIZARDS

Family Polychrotidae, Genus: Anolis
These lizards are distinguished  from other lizards by the peculiar extension of the skin on the throat of the males, that often sports spectacular colors. These appendages are displayed to attract females, but also in territorial display, or as a defense against predators. There is a high diversity of Anolis lizards in Ecuador, where they are found from sea level to 2,500 metres altitude, and are abundant along the Ecoroute. At present, they are being seriously affected by local climate change, with among other things, a reduction in the number of rainy days.

Giant Worm

And what is this? In fact it is not a reptile, but a giant worm! Truly an amazing thing to see.
